The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has asserted its responsibility for the deaths of 14 Pakistani soldiers during a military operation named 'Operation Herof.' This incident, which took place on May 9, involved a significant explosion that destroyed a bulletproof vehicle, resulting in the fatalities of all soldiers inside. The attack occurred in Bonistan, located in the Panjgur district. The BLA also released a video confirming their involvement in the assault on the Pakistani Army convoy.
In a statement, Jeeyand Baloch, a spokesperson for the BLA, indicated that their fighters targeted the Pakistani Army and its so-called Victory Celebrations in Quetta and Mastung.
The statement detailed, 'Today, our fighters targeted a rally of the so-called “Victory Celebrations” organized by the occupying Pakistani Army in Quetta with a grenade attack on Munir Mengal Road. The rally was led by MPA Ali Madad Jattak. Our fighters aimed at armed agents associated with death squads ahead of the rally, resulting in the elimination of one agent and injuries to twelve others.'
The BLA's focus was on the Balochistan government and its celebrations, which they view as a display of occupation. The statement emphasized that the Baloch liberation movement has gained significant public support.
'The so-called Balochistan government, in an attempt to mislead the world, has set up containers throughout Quetta to celebrate a 'so-called celebration' under the auspices of the occupying state. However, the truth is now evident that the Baloch liberation movement has gained momentum with public backing, making the occupying army feel unsafe in any part of Balochistan,' the press release stated.
Grenade Attack on Pakistani Army in Mastung
The BLA also claimed responsibility for a hand grenade attack on the Pakistani Army in Mastung. They highlighted that personnel at this checkpoint were known for humiliating locals during searches.
'Last night, our fighters targeted enemy personnel stationed at the checkpoint of the occupying Pakistani Army at MCC Cross in Mastung with a hand grenade attack, injuring four personnel. At this checkpoint, Baloch citizens, including women and the elderly, were subjected to humiliation in the name of searches,' the statement added.
In conclusion, the BLA reiterated its commitment to continue these attacks against the Pakistani Army and its collaborators.
'The Baloch Liberation Army claims responsibility for these attacks. Our operations against the occupying Pakistani army and its allies will persist,' the release concluded.
